Conversion tracking. Know what your ads are delivering.
Missing enquiries, inflated conversion numbers or reports that don’t match what your business is seeing?
I review and set up tracking for businesses advertising on Google and Meta, checking that meaningful actions are measured correctly. You get a clearer view of the results guiding your campaign decisions.

-
Define the outcome
A successfully submitted enquiry that reaches your business.
-
Check when it records
Confirm the event fires after a successful submission, with failed attempts excluded.
-
Verify the result
Test that the event reaches the intended platform and check for duplicate recording.
See where the numbers go wrong.
I check the connections between your website, tracking setup and advertising reports to identify where results are missing, duplicated or measuring the wrong action.
-
The ad click
Check how campaign information reaches the website, including whether redirects lose useful source details.
-
The completed action
Confirm what success looks like, such as a submitted enquiry or completed purchase, and test that journey.
-
The tracking event
Check the trigger, destination and duplicate handling, including behaviour under different consent choices.
-
The reported result
Verify that the intended action is being received and check how it’s configured in your reporting and campaign goals.
Enquiries missing from reports?
Trace where recording breaks down and distinguish setup faults from limitations in what can be measured.
More conversions than real enquiries?
Look for repeated events, overlapping conversion actions or interactions being counted as completed leads.
What you get from the tracking work.
I start by reviewing your existing setup and the results you need to measure. We then agree the changes, access requirements and fee before implementation.
-
A measurement plan
Define which actions matter, when they should be recorded and where the data needs to go, with enquiries distinguished from supporting interactions.
-
Agreed setup & repairs
Implement the tracking changes within scope across your website, tag manager, analytics and advertising accounts, with developer requirements identified upfront.
-
Testing & verification
Test the agreed journeys, check successful and failed actions, investigate duplicates and confirm that events reach the intended platforms.
-
A clear handover
Understand what’s tracked, what changed and how it was tested, including known limitations and anything that needs checking after future website changes.
The scope fits your setup. Any paid tools, developer work, CRM connections or ongoing monitoring are identified and agreed separately where needed.

View all FAQsHow much does tracking setup or repair cost?
The fee depends on your website, the platforms involved and what needs fixing or adding. I’ll review the requirements and provide an agreed scope and quote, identifying any developer support or paid tools needed before work starts.
What access will you need?
Depending on the work, I may need access to your website, Google Tag Manager, analytics and advertising accounts. I’ll explain which permissions are needed for review and implementation. Access is granted through the relevant platforms, so you don’t need to share passwords.
Should Google Ads, Meta and analytics show identical numbers?
Not necessarily. Platforms can use different attribution rules, reporting windows and methods of counting conversions. I’ll investigate whether differences come from those settings, measurement limitations or a tracking fault, and explain which figures are useful for each decision.
Can you recover conversions that weren’t tracked previously?
Adding or fixing tracking now doesn’t recreate events that were never recorded. Existing form records, sales data or other sources may help us understand past results. I’ll assess what’s available and explain what can be recovered, connected or measured reliably from that point onwards.
Will tracking need checking again after setup?
Yes. Changes to your website, forms, consent settings or integrations can affect tracking. The handover explains what has been tested and which changes should prompt another check. Ongoing monitoring or maintenance can be scoped separately.
